Her Place In The World

17 Dec

She picks up her delicate reflection
from the gentle ripples in the water;
a mere casting of her linear form,
left there by the glitter of sunlight,
now shed o’er her beauteous facade.

She caresses the outline of her shadow
as she wades through the calm lake,
bathing herself in the full zen of now;
capturing all traces of what had been,
and the wake of her subtle movements,
filling shallows, as her place on earth.

She touches upon the softest light,
cascading across the mirrored surface,
and finds herself now more impassioned,
as the moment when she first took breath;
savoring now e’en the most trivial tide,
this is but a respite in her wandering.

Sated in tactile foray of her perceptions,
she returns to the earth her shadow,
leaving her reflection in the water,
and moves to her next consummation;
she is replete with a new awareness,
the testament of her grace, unaltered.
