Words In Anger Now Have Stain

03 Feb

What err praise have you now
for stern and distant utterance,
too vaguely remote to disavow,
know this of vain disturbance,
that e’en in thy constant thrall,
they do but stoke our upheaval,
intolerant cries of thine recall,
tho’ amended, in vain retrieval;
ne’er do they erase nor dispel,
for with constant tide of echo,
shed then bitter, maudlin swell,
cast shades of coldest sorrow;
prithee, bid thy forlorn undone,
give wiser regret to thy disdain,
as of thy once sweeter tongue,
words in anger now have stain.

    Solid verses. Do you know the artist of this image? It’s a nice selection to compliment the wording.
