Dear Sir

12 Feb

image

To you, dear sir, who may give command,
to you, critic in earnest, finding flaw,
to you, who may read, but not understand,
to you, an essayer, too strict with script law;
too bold in assess, dear sir, I do pray you,
know of your words, dear sir, they do scald;
hear now this plea to lend judgments true,
lest your words be judged as jester’s ribald.
