Be As Sculptor To My Flesh

19 Mar

Etch your words into my skin,
when you speak of intimacy,
scald my flesh with your breath,
so that I too may burn in ardor,
yet remain as your ardent scribe;
sear the bones of my mortal form
with farthest reach of your hands,
and shape the curve of my spine
with your most impassioned hold,
so that I may then be truly alive.
