She Bleeds Now In Bitter Tears

08 Jun

She bleeds now in bitter tears,
like an early morning frost,
melting on a crisp winter day,
as sunlight pierces the flesh
of the ice-covered leaves;
tears seep thru’ steely lashes
of her fiercely guarded eyes;
and woe is her present flavor,
sorrow, her cause and name;
as with slowly melting sky
of winter’s submissive wane;
she bleeds now in bitter tears.

She cries in thunderous rain,
thrust of a mountain spring,
poured forth on its journey,
as the wells of her tired eyes
become saturated, e’er plainly,
drenched to the bone in tears;
streaming sorrow in release,
the final act of tender mercy
that she has yet left to bear;
now tears become her custom,
a way of life, spent in a storm;
she cries in thunderous rain.
