Stay This Heart, Stay This Breath

15 Sep

Hold me like this, treasured and bold;
soften my form in your gentle hands,
temper now this vain heart’s beating,
yet scald my flesh in your ardent gaze.

Heal these wounds that bely this heart;
take from me this heavy, languid breath,
ply your hands to me in wanton whoring,
lend your heart rest, but soft, with mine.
